A New Way to Journal: 750 Words

As far as journaling programs are concerned, this one takes the cake. Based on the morning pages concept in the book “The Artist’s Way,” 750 Words is your private online journal with a cool set of features.

The idea is that you write 750 words (three hand-written pages worth) every morning.  The writing should be free-flow, uncensored and honest, and it can be about anything that is on your mind. This opens up and unblocks your mind from any worries, unsolved problems, and half-ideas that have been stuck in your mind.  I can attest that it’s a fantastic way to jump-start your day.

Your entries on 750 Words are private, and the web app gives you some really cool statistics on your writings such as your mood, your linguistic sensory bias (visual, auditory, kinesthetic), your words per minute and more. You can choose to share your statistics with others or keep it private.

You can set the web app to remind you every morning via email to write your 750 words. Personally, I set my browser homepage to 750 words so that I will remember to do it every day in March.
